Festival ON THE CROSS
All bodies count, all bodies tell
30/4-2/5 2026
Experience three days of intense celebration of diversity when the festival opens its doors for the second time and lets unique art and cultural experiences take over Dansekapellet in Copenhagen. The program is filled with performing arts created by and with people with and without disabilities, where you can experience moving performances, unhurried concert experiences, educational workshops, exhibitions and inspiring debates.

The festival’s starting point
The festival is developed and organized by FIMD (Foreningen for Integreret Moderne Dans i Danmark), which in its pioneering work supports the development of integrated dance in Denmark, focusing on dance for and with people with different bodies, conditions and functions. The association’s activities are developed in partnership with artists, teachers and institutions that have disabilities close to their hearts or that work with people with functional variations. We initiate activities locally, nationally and internationally.
At the festival, we invite several artistic genres to show the audience a broader cross-section of an already narrow field and to create debate across genres. It all unfolds in a varied program of artistic works, workshops and debates.
Accessibility as a core value
The festival strives to be 100% accessible to everyone – regardless of disability. We want to integrate accessibility at every stage: from physical layout and transportation to communication and program content. The festival is continuously developed in dialog with users and experts to make the experience inclusive in practice – not just in intention.
