Festival (A)CROSS
All bodies count, all bodies tell

Festival (A)CROSS is a three-day celebration of diversity, where unique arts and cultural experiences take over Dansekapellet in Copenhagen. The festival was held for the first time in 2024, and in 2026, we were proud to once again welcome powerful and horizon-expanding voices to the stage. The programme was filled with performing arts created by and with people with and without disabilities, offering audiences moving performances, immersive concert experiences, inspiring workshops, exhibitions and inspiring debates.

The Festival’s Foundation

The festival is developed and organised by FIMD (The Danish Association for Integrated Dance), which, through its pioneering work, supports the development of integrated dance in Denmark, with a focus on dance for and with people with different bodies, abilities and ways of moving. The association’s activities are developed in partnership with artists, educators and institutions that have personal experience with disability or work with people with disabilities. We initiate activities at local, national and international levels.

At the festival, we invite a range of artistic genres into the programme to give audiences a broader view of an already relatively narrow field and to create dialogue across genres. All of this unfolds in a varied programme of artistic works, workshops and debates.

Accessibility as a Core Value

The festival is committed to becoming 100% accessible to everyone, regardless of disability or access needs. We aim to integrate accessibility into every aspect of the festival: from physical access and transportation to communication and programme content. The festival is continuously developed in dialogue with users and experts, so that the experience is inclusive in practice – not just in intention. You can find detailed information about accessibility at Dansekapellet here.
