Nuances beneath the surface
NUANCES – below the surface consists of 24 photographic works and an art film shot and edited by photographer Nanna Kreutzmann in the project of the same name. In March, one photo was named Press Photo of the Year 2025 in the open class category and will of course be shown at the festival together with the art film.
Admission to the work and film is free throughout the three days of the festival.
NUANCES – below the surface started as a house artist project under the Danish Arts Foundation, where the artists, through a collaboration with the youth club Levuk and their young members with mental and/or physical disabilities, dived underwater to experience being in the world in a different way.
The works give an insight into the unique space where the young people in the water slowly sense and move forward – beyond existing boundaries. In that moment, the focus shifts from their disability to this sensory, challenging and liberating experience.
NUANCER is a poetic and aesthetic depiction of being in and under water.
